Working Visit by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to the United States of America, 1 - 4 April 2013
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make a working visit to the US from 1 – 4 April 2013. PM will visit Washington DC and New York City. PM’s last visit to the US was in July 2010.
In Washington DC, PM will meet President Barack Obama, Secretary of State John Kerry, Secretary of the Treasury Jacob Lew, Secretary of Defence Charles Hagel and World Bank Group President Jim Yong Kim. PM will deliver a speech at the gala dinner co-hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce and the US-ASEAN Business Council.
In New York City, PM will meet New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and business leaders.
PM will be accompanied by Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam, Members of Parliament Dr Intan Azura Binte Mokhtar and Mr Desmond Lee Ti-Seng, as well as officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his absence, Mr Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs will be the Acting Prime Minister.
