DPM Teo Chee Hean to Visit the United Kingdom and Ireland, 22 – 29 March 2018
DPM and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will visit London and Manchester in the United Kingdom (UK) from 22 to 26 March 2018, and Dublin, Ireland from 27 to 29 March 2018.
Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean will visit London and Manchester in the United Kingdom (UK) from 22 to 26 March 2018, and Dublin, Ireland from 27 to 29 March 2018.
In London, DPM Teo will meet Minister for the Cabinet Office and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster David Lidington, Secretary of State for Defence Gavin Williamson, and Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation Sam Gyimah. DPM Teo will also meet parliamentarians, think-tanks and business leaders to discuss regional developments and business opportunities for the UK in our region. DPM Teo will join Overseas Singaporeans at Singapore Day 2018. This is the third time Singapore Day is held in the UK following previous editions in London in 2014 and 2009.
In Manchester, DPM Teo will meet Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham. DPM Teo will also meet industry and academic representatives from the University of Manchester, and visit science, technology and innovation facilities to explore cooperation with the UK in these areas.
In Dublin, DPM Teo will meet Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister) and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Coveney, Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure & Reform Paschal Donohoe, Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government Eoghan Murphy and Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament of Ireland Seán Ó Fearghaíl. DPM Teo will also meet the Overseas Singaporean community based in Ireland.
DPM will be accompanied by Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling, and Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Communications and Information Zaqy Mohamad.
