Official Visit of PM Lee Hsien Loong to the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Spain
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is making an official visit to Germany from 1 to 4 February 2015 and to Spain from 5 to 6 February 2015.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is making an official visit to Germany from 1 to 4 February 2015 and to Spain from 5 to 6 February 2015. This will be PM Lee’s second official visit to Germany and first official visit to Spain. PM Lee’s visit to Germany will coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of Singapore’s diplomatic relations with Germany. The visit will be an occasion for PM Lee to reaffirm our friendly ties with Germany and Spain and discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation with both countries.
In Germany, PM Lee will visit Dresden, the capital of the Federal State of Saxony, followed by Berlin. In Dresden, PM Lee will meet MinisterPresident of Saxony Stanislaw Tillich. In Berlin, PM Lee will meet separately with Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel, Vice Federal Chancellor and Federal Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Sigmar Gabriel, Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Federal Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble.
In Madrid, PM Lee will have an audience with His Majesty King Felipe VI and meet Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy. He is also scheduled to meet separately with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation José Manuel GarcíaMargallo and Minister of Economy and Competitiveness Luis de Guindos.
PM Lee will be accompanied by Mrs Lee, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Home Affairs and Second Minister for Trade and Industry S Iswaran, Senior Minister of State for Law and Senior Minister of State and Education Indranee Rajah, Minister of State for National Development and Minister of State for Defence Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman,and Mayor of Central Singapore District and Member of Parliament Denise Phua.
In conjunction with PM Lee’s visit, International Enterprise Singapore and the Singapore Business Federation will organise Singapore business missions to the two countries.
During PM Lee’s absence, Mr Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister, Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, will be the Acting Prime Minister for the period 1 to 7 February 2015.
