MFA Press Statement: Visit of the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Nguyen Tan Dung, 31 May to 1 June 2013
Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Excellency Nguyen Tan Dung, will be visiting Singapore from 31 May to 1 June 2013 at the invitation of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to deliver the keynote address at the 12th International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD). Prime Minister Dung's visit underscores the excellent bilateral relations between Singapore and Vietnam, and is a highlight in a series of events commemorating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Singapore and Vietnam.
Aside from delivering the SLD keynote address, Prime Minister Dung will call on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee on 31 May. Prime Minister Lee will also host a lunch for Prime Minister Dung and his delegation on the same day. On 1 June, Prime Minister Dung will attend a breakfast meeting with representatives from Singapore companies with key business interests in Vietnam.
Prime Minister Dung will be accompanied by Minister, Chairman of the Office of the Government Vu Duc Dam; Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Vo Van Thuong; Deputy Ministers from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Public Security, Planning and Investment, and National Defense; and other senior Vietnamese officials.
