Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellowship Visit of His Excellency Vo Van Thuong Member of Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of Quang Ngai Province

    Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of Quang Ngai Province Party Committee His Excellency Vo Van Thuong will visit Singapore as the 40th Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow (LKYEF) from 2 to 7 December 2013. 

    While in Singapore, Party Secretary Thuong will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean, and be hosted to a meal by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam.  Party Secretary Thuong will also meet Minister for Health Gan Kim Yong and Minister for Education Heng Swee Keat.  He will receive briefings by various social and economic agencies including the Ministry of Manpower, the Economic Development Board, JTC Corporation, and the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.  Party Secretary Thuong will also visit a Meet-the-People Session.  Mr Eddie Teo, Chairman of LKYEF, will host a welcome dinner for Party Secretary Thuong.   

     Established in 1991, the LKYEF programme invites outstanding individuals for high-level exchange visits to Singapore.  The Fellows are chosen on the basis of their proven track records or extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations as well as promote international understanding and goodwill.  Party Secretary Thuong is the third LKYEF from Vietnam.
