Dear Excellency,

Please accept my warmest congratulations on your appointment as General-Secretary of the Communist Party of China.

You take over in the midst of a challenging global economic environment and at an important juncture in China’s development. I am confident that, under your able leadership, China will overcome its challenges and enjoy many more years of peace and prosperity.

Singapore and China enjoy excellent relations underpinned by frequent high-level exchanges, substantial economic cooperation, and close people-to-people links. Bilateral cooperation has broadened beyond economics into new areas like culture, education and social management. We should continue to pursue new cooperation to strengthen our ties.

I look forward to working with you and your colleagues to strengthen our relations, and hope to receive you in Singapore soon.

Yours sincerely,

LEE HSIEN LOONG

His Excellency Xi Jinping
Vice President
People’s Republic of China

Dear Excellency,

Please accept my warmest congratulations on the success of the 18th Party Congress, and on your re-appointment to the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Singapore and China enjoy excellent relations, anchored by our two government-to-government projects, the Suzhou Industrial Park and the Tianjin Eco-city. Our bilateral relations have expanded steadily from trade and investment to human resource development, education, culture, social management and food safety. I am confident that Singapore-China relations will continue to grow stronger with the incoming Chinese leadership.

I appreciated our sincere and candid discussions during my visit to Beijing in September. I hope you can visit Singapore in the near future and look forward to working closely with you and your colleagues to strengthen bilateral relations.

Yours sincerely,

LEE HSIEN LOONG

His Excellency Li Keqiang
Vice Premier of the State Council
People’s Republic of China
