Congratulations on the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan's victory in the Lower House elections of 14 December 2014. The win is an affirmation of the confidence that your people have in your leadership, and a signal of their support for your policies to revitalise Japan.
Singapore and Japan share an excellent relationship, anchored by strong cooperation in many areas ranging from trade and investment, health to cultural exchanges. Our countries also enjoy growing people-to-people ties, including frequent meetings among our leaders.
Singapore believes that Japan has a key role to play in the peace and prosperity of Asia. We welcome Japan's deepening engagement of ASEAN under your administration, and look forward to Japan's support as we work towards creating an ASEAN Community by 2015.
