Call on SM Goh Chok Tong by Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo
Call on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong by Tianjin Mayor Huang Xingguo on 25 August 2009.
The Mayor of Tianjin Municipality Huang Xingguo called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana this afternoon. Mayor Huang is in Singapore from 22 to 26 August 2009 to participate in the 2nd meeting of the Tianjin Eco-city Joint Steering Council and to discuss issues related to the Tianjin Eco-city project with the Ministry of National Development.
SM last met Mayor Huang during SM's visit to Tianjin in September 2008 to officiate at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Tianjin Eco-city. During the meeting today, SM and Mayor Huang took stock of the steady progress of the Eco-city since their last meeting. SM reaffirmed the strong commitment and support of the Singapore government to make the Eco-city project a success.
