SM Tharman Shanmugaratnam to visit the United States of America (Oct 2021)

Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, will make a working visit to Washington, DC and New York from 11 to 17 October 2021.

In Washington, DC, SM Tharman will meet with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, and White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan. He will also participate in the International Monetary and Financial Committee meetings, co-chair an IMF roundtable on the channelling of Special Drawing Rights, and engage with several other foreign counterparts.

In New York, SM Tharman will co-chair the United Nations Human Development Report Advisory Board’s meetings, engage with several financial leaders, and meet overseas Singaporeans working in the financial sector.

SM Tharman will be accompanied by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Ministry of Finance.
