The Medal of Honour (Pingat Kehormatan)
The Medal of Honour was instituted in 1970.
The Medal may be awarded to any member of the Singapore Armed Forces or the Singapore Police Force who has performed any act or series of acts constituting distinguished conduct in active service in the field. The Medal may, in special circumstances, be awarded to any person engaged in operational duties whose acts or series of acts constitute distinguished conduct. The Medal may be awarded posthumously.
The Medal is silver-gilt and consists, on the obverse side, of a four-lobed artifice superimposed upon 2 crossed swords. In the centre of the artifice is a five-pointed star on a red enamelled background encircled by a laurel wreath in green enamel. At the base there is a scroll with the inscription "PINGAT KEHORMATAN". The reverse side of the Medal bears the State Arms.
The Medal is to be worn on the left side of the outer garment suspended by a ribbon. The ribbon consists of a white centre band flanked on each side by a red stripe, a purple stripe, a grey stripe followed by a purple band and a grey band, in that order.
