Official Visit of Vice Premier Han Zheng of the People's Republic of China, 19 to 21 September 2018
Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng will make an official visit to Singapore from 19 to 21 September 2018.
Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng will make an official visit to Singapore from 19 to 21 September 2018 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean.
On 20 September, DPM Teo and Vice Premier Han will co-chair the 14th Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC) meeting, 19th China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park Joint Steering Council (JSC), 10th Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city JSC and the 2nd China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) JSC. The JCBC is an overarching annual high-level platform to discuss the progress in our bilateral cooperation with China and set the direction for future cooperation between our two countries. The JSCs will review the progress made on the three flagship Government-to-Government projects and discuss future developments. DPM Teo and Vice Premier Han will also jointly witness the signing of several bilateral Memorandums of Understanding after the JCBC and JSC meetings.
DPM Teo will meet Vice Premier Han and his delegation and host a Welcome Dinner on 19 September. DPM Teo and DPM and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam will host Vice Premier Han to meals separately on 20 September. Vice Premier Han will pay courtesy calls on President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 21 September. Vice Premier Han will also visit Pasir Panjang Terminal to discuss port development and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to discuss urban planning strategies and other common areas of interest.
