Visit by President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol - Oct 2024
Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong welcomed President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol to Singapore on 8 October 2024.
Singapore and the Republic of Korea have much in common. Both countries were “Asian Tigers” that successfully transformed our economies.
PM Wong had a good meeting with President Yoon and hosted him for lunch. Both leaders agreed to work towards upgrading and strengthening bilateral relations to our Strategic Partnership in 2025, when both countries will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
They witnessed five MOUs and agreements in areas like supply chains, food safety, start-ups, and technological cooperation; and the signing of an extradition treaty.
