Visit by Communist Party of Vietnam General Secretary To Lam - Mar 2025

Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong welcomed General Secretary of the Community Party of Vietnam, To Lam to Singapore on his first Official Visit on 12 March 2025.

The two leaders decided to elevate Vietnam-Singapore relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP), Singapore’s first with an ASEAN member state. Building on the 2013 Strategic Partnership, the CSP signals Singapore’s shared commitment to cooperating in emerging and mutually beneficial areas such as the green and digital economies, renewable energy, and carbon credits.

To implement the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, both PM Wong and General Secretary To Lam have assigned the two Foreign Ministries to coordinate with relevant Ministries and agencies to develop a Plan of Action covering all the cooperation areas between the two countries.
