Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat (Oct 2019)

Indonesian President Joko Widodo visited Singapore from 8 to 9 October 2019 for the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders’ Retreat with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

During the Leaders’ Retreat, Prime Minister Lee and President Joko Widodo took stock of the progress in bilateral cooperation and followed up on discussions at the 2018 Retreat. In looking ahead to President Joko Widodo’s second term in office, both sides explored ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, across the economic, socio-cultural and security spheres. Prime Minister Lee and President Joko Widodo also witnessed the signing of an Agreement between Indonesia and Singapore on Electronic Data Exchange to Facilitate and Secure Trade, and a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Archives of both countries on Archives Cooperation.

Prime Minister Lee and Mrs Lee also hosted dinner for President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and the Indonesian delegation.
